Bromus inermus (smoothe brome), is considered an invasive weed growing along canals and other agricultural areas. However, many species of grass-feeding skippers will accept this grass as a host plant. These species include Poanes taxiles, Poanes zabulon, Poanes hobomok, Atrytone logan, Atrytone arogos, Lerema accius, Lerodea eufala, Problema byssus, Ochlodes sylvanoides, Amblyscirtes vialis, Amblyscirtes fimbriata, Oarisima garita, Thymelicus lineola, etc.
