Females of Anthocharis thoosa thoosa tend to oviposit on the leaves of Descurainia pinnata towards the upper half of the host plant.  On the other hand, Pontia sisymbri females prefer to oviposit towards the bottom half of the plant.  This assists you in discerning orangetip from spring white eggs based upon where they are laid on the plant.
